Ladies...Sharpen your eye pencils...wield your unruly *mascara* wands! It is indeed time for ...a DUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!

*pulls off wizard hat* Right..err..um..got excited there...anyway!

I think one of the most debated topics make-up affencionado's deal with is the ever-impending philosophical questions: "Drugstore or Department store?".........

Oh..oh it's NOT philosophical? Well, whatever...the point is there are some great drugstore lines out there, and it's important to experiment and have fun! Best thing in this modern technologically expansive age: internet. google. they help y'all, they really do!

In doing my tiny little micro-cellular part in the make-up filled cyber spaced, I would like to help YOUUUUU *jumps around like soulja boy* Figure out what to buy drugstore, and what the department store really does do best!

Today's contenders...on the right, the highly coveted, illustrious MAC SATIN TAUPE!!!! *crowd roarsssss* and to the left...L'Oreal HIP Duo in Sassy!!!!

Is there hope for Satin Taupe? or is Sassy going to HIP check it out of the proverbial make-up bag?!!?

MAC Satin Taupe has 5 friends from the holiday 2008 collection to the Left! And Poor Sassy Duo is only a two-some that's shaking in the knees...err..package..?

But oh gosh, it does look close, doesn't it? MAC blends smoothly, high pigmentation, great staying power...but the L'Oreal is right in it's heels in every department!

1 half of the L'Oreal Duo in 'Sassy' on the LEFT, and on the RIGHT MAC's Satin Taupe!!! (uncanny, no?)

Verdict:    TIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, totally wimped out at the end, I did. But it's true. L'oreal really did something amazing with their new HIP line, and for drugstore eyeshadow *heck just eyeshadow in general* I would suggest picking these up!

Differences:

Just in the price! Satin Taupe on it's own is $17 CDN *i did get the Smokey eye palette during Christmas which has 6 for around 45$ but thats limited edition!* L'Oreal Duo's are around $7-9 CDN depending on where you go, and they go on sale..AND there is TWO eye shadows in that duo (the other turquoise colour is great too, BTW, it's just it wasn't fighting tonight :) )

There you have it folks..the tribe has spoken (AKA me with my laptop?) And it's indeed a tie, technically i would consider L'Oreal the winner because it is cheap and widely available, but for sake of sparing Satin Taupe's crushed and crumbling self, I'll say its a tie!
